Applying to the Student Support Service Programs

Fall Term: SSS Scholars Academy Program

Congratulations on your admission to CAL! It is our pleasure to invite you to apply to the Student Support Services (SSS) Scholars Academy Program. From our applicant pool of SSS Scholars, we will select a cohort of students to receive a Supplemental Pell grant of up to $1,000 dollars. This component provides scholars with a supplemental Pell grant to offset student loans. We select our SSS Pell Scholars based on a combination of academic achievements, community service, and leadership experience. SSS Scholars work on developing their academic skills, networks, and resources to effectively navigate their time at Cal. In addition, SSS Scholars receive ongoing academic advising and participate in SSS credit bearing courses such as Academic Strategies, Introduction to Research and Career and Graduate School exploration / G.R.E.

Eligibility

The Student Support Services scholars (SSS) Academy Program are part of UC Berkeley’s Academic Achievement Programs. The Academic Achievement Programs is a TRIO program funded by the US Department of Education to serve students who are first-generation college students and whose families’ income falls within US Department of education guidelines. (First-generation college refers to students who come from a family where no parent has graduated from a university or college).
